JBKnowledge to Demo Augmented Reality App for Construction in Las Vegas at CONEXPO

Bryan, TX (PRWEB) March 03, 2014

This week, over 125,000 construction industry professionals will join roughly 2,400 exhibitors at the Las Vegas Convention Center for the CONEXPO-CON/AGG Conference. Among those exhibitors will be a growing technology solutions company named JBKnowledge better known for its cloud software solutions SmartBidNet for construction bidding, and SmartCompliance for certificate of insurance management. However, their most recent development SmartReality, an augmented reality mobile app for project visualizations, plans to attract the most attention.

As demonstrated in their recent version update video, the beta app combines 2D printed construction plans with BIM files to render an interactive 3D model of the 2D plan on an iOS or Android mobile device’s screen.

“We’ve found a way to bridge the gap between project conception and visualization. It’s hard to look at a 2D plan and really understand what the structure will look like in real life. It’s hard for subcontractors, sales teams, and pre-construction managers alike. We’re hoping SmartReality can bridge that gap. We’re also working on additional features like the ability to use a touch slider on screen to show the progression of the model through various phases of construction,” stated JBKnowledge President, James Benham. “In addition to that, our web portal for customer model uploads and project creation is soon to be released to our first beta clients for full production use,” says Benham.

JBKnowledge will be at booth #65106 in the Technology Construction Solutions Pavilion of the conference in South Hall 2. Attendees can stop by to try out SmartReality and also see live demonstrations of the SmartBidNet and SmartCompliance software solutions for commercial general contractors.

JBKnowledge President, James Benham, will be presenting twice at the conference. In his first session on Wednesday, March 5, Benham will discuss the latest construction technology trends and tools and how they are shaping the 2014 construction forecast. On Friday, March 7, Benham will be on a tech panel with Daniel Russell of Sundt Construction and Michael Whaley of TURIS Systems discussing BIM and augmented reality. Both sessions will help construction professionals sort through current technology offerings, identify the most valuable tools and long-term trends, and stay ahead of the ever-progressing construction technology landscape.
